OUR ECOVILLAGE

OUR ECOVILLAGE (1999) is a farm-based 'Sustainable Living Demonstration Site and Education Centre'. Created through ecological design principles and innovation practices - this contemporary precedent-setting community project works with Government/regulatory authorities, educators, industry/local business, and many local stakeholders. OUR farm has hosted 10K learners per year with K-12 Programming and 13 Universities working on research and development to create interconnected systems for climate change adaptation design with farming/food production, alternative waste/water/heat infrastructure systems, and small healthy/affordable housing (of natural & earthen materials). This attracts visitors and professionals from wide and far who work with research and design of resilient community modeling and honours the traditional territories holders of the lands on which this project presides. OUR latest contribution to the local community is an "Educational Healthy Foods CSA Box" which provides veggies/fruits, meats & poultry, canning, plants, baking, local treats, educational how-to's/videos, farm visits (especially when farm babies are born!)....and a new TV Show "Foodies, Farmers, and Medicine Makers"!
