‘Island Good Days’ was proclaimed in 11 communities across Vancouver Island including in the City of Campbell River, Comox Valley Regional District, City of Duncan, Township of Esquimalt, Town of Ladysmith, City of Langford, City of Nanaimo, City of Port Alberni, District of Saanich, City of Victoria and the Town of View Royal the week of June 20 to June 26!
Our Island Good grocers 49th Parallel, Country Grocer, Discovery Foods, Tru Value Foods and Quality Foods provided promotions, prizes and demos and tastings during the week and the feedback was fantastic!
“It was amazing. [Island Good suppliers] all had a great time, met new customers, and sold a bunch of products.” – Country Grocer
To celebrate the end of Island Good days, proclaimed in the Town of Ladysmith Mayor Stone, Councillor Paterson and Councillor Johnson, joined the team at 49th Parallel Grocery to draw the winner of a Island Good basket.
Island Good Day Market
The first ever Island Good Market Day on June 11th was a very successful event that welcomed approximately 1500 visitors from across Vancouver Island! The purpose was to create a space for Island Good vendors to showcase their artisanal goods and facilitate connections between grocers, vendors, and the overall community.
Visitors to Island Good Market Day enjoyed 35 Island Good vendor booths and products in a farmer’s market style event.
Additional entertainment included scheduled entertainment, beer and wine gardens and a BBQ, door prize, and petting farm.
Peppers Local Island Showcase
We attended the Local Island Showcase at Pepper’s Foods July 21st and it was Great seeing the Island community come together to support local while also tasting some delicious Island made products!
Let’s keep celebrating Island Good throughout the year as we move into Fall and Winter. Choosing to support local Island Good businesses creates a ripple effect that can be felt throughout our communities!
