Island Good Fawcett Mattress Offers Material for Masks

Fawcett Mattress in Victoria recently offered up high quality quilted material from off-cuts of their mattress borders and ticking to any mask makers in the Victoria area through a recent Facebook Post:

“We saw a post in the NY times that said quilted material is one of the best for masks! We have high quality quilted material from off-cuts of our mattress borders and ticking.

The material is high thread count certified organic cotton on both sides of the quilting, with New Zealand Joma wool inside. We do not use any harsh chemicals, fire retardants or anything of that nature in our facility.

We’ve asked our (now skeleton crew) of production people to put the off-cuts aside and have 1/2 a utility bag full now, but we generate a fair bit of this material each week.

Our goal would be to get this material into the hands of people who are getting masks to those “most-at-risk- individuals”

If anyone’s willing to make and donate a few masks to us for supplying material too – that would be greatly appreciated.”

Fawcett Mattress is hopeful the material is suitable. They have received a great response from “YYJ Mask makers” who are picking up mattress off-cuts to make masks for people that are vulnerable.

Kudos to Fawcett Mattress and all the Island businesses working hard to support Islanders in these challenging times.
